EMBOSSED INTO THE BASE OF THE BLADE IS ” AMBASSADOR U.S.A.”. IT HAS ADVERTISING IN RED THAT SAYS ” CSSA Kansas City, Mo.  1956 “. AND THE HANDLE HAS A MOTHER OF PEARL LOOK. Antique Carved Colonial Peru Bone Dagger Hunting Tool

Here is a very
interesting piece from Colonial Peru. It is a very tough and sharp
dagger or hunting tool, all hand carved out of one piece of llama boneIt has the hand scratched name, perhaps of one of the former owners as pictured. Although quite old, this inscription looks to be posterior and much newer than the actual dagger, which dates to the early Colonial era – c.1600/1700’sHas a very ornate handle, unusual for such primitive pieces from the periodMeasurements: Approx. 8″ long x 1,25″ at the widestCondition: G/VG overall, See photos; Nice warm patina, developed over centuries. Shows signs of extensive use, but never abused. It has a small and shallow flake at the very tip and a few more minor one at the “sharp” edges
